I Thought I Was Right... Then I Asked ChatGPT

Ever feel like your brain is running on autopilot?
That was me—until I started using ChatGPT to challenge how I think.
For the past few months, I’ve been treating ChatGPT like a mental gym. Not for answers, but for questions. Prompts that force me to pause, reassess, and get real about my assumptions. The results? Wildly helpful.

5 Prompts That Train Your Brain.
1️⃣ The Assumption Detector
I believe [your belief]. What hidden assumptions am I making? What evidence might contradict this?
This one has saved me from more than a few bad decisions. Turns out, a lot of what I was "sure" about was built on quicksand.
2️⃣ The Devil's Advocate
I'm planning to [your idea]. If you were trying to convince me this is a terrible idea, what would be your most compelling arguments?
Warning: this one can sting. I used it before launching a business and discovered a fatal flaw I hadn’t seen. Ouch—but also, wow. Glad I caught it early.
3️⃣ The Ripple Effect Analyzer
I'm thinking about [potential decision]. Beyond the obvious first-order effects, what might be the unexpected second and third-order consequences?
Perfect for big decisions. This helped me realize how a career move might impact my relationships and day-to-day life in ways I hadn’t considered.
4️⃣ The Blind Spot Illuminator
I keep experiencing [problem] despite [your solution attempts]. What factors might I be overlooking?
Used this when my team kept hitting the same productivity wall. ChatGPT pointed out a leadership habit I didn’t even know was an issue. Game-changer.
5️⃣ The Status Quo Challenger
We've always [current approach], but it's not working well. Why might this traditional approach be failing, and what radical alternatives exist?
This helped me totally rethink a process that had been annoying everyone on my team for years. Turns out, there were better ways—we just weren’t asking.
Each of these prompts hits a different part of your thinking process. Together, they work like a personal trainer for your mind.
